Within the framework of its curatorial project The Sedimentary Effect, the cultural organization INSITE invited us to collaborate on its third chapter A Timeless Way of Building, based on the book by Viennese architect Christopher Alexander (1979) and the experimental social housing known locally as El Sitio (1976) in Mexicali, Mexico, through the commissioning of a pavilion with the specific intention of projecting Christopher Alexander's legacy. Seaside Pavilion perches on the edge of woods and beach at Bohai Sea as a reception space. Architects renovated the original building and added various areas for reading, tea, meditation, dining, and resting. Place in Times River The section of Weihe River in Xixian New District has recently restored the original surroundings. The riverfront ecological zone revives great environmental context from the past to the future. PLAT ASIA designed the Weihe River Landscape Pavilion in 2017 on the south bank of Weihe River and west of Shanglin Bridge, which served as public infrastructure for a viewing deck. This project is one of six public buildings in the riverbank area co-designed by three architects from China, Korea, and Japan, devoted to daily exercise needs for citizens. Corner Pavilion is located on a pedestrian street by the West Lake in Hangzhou. It is a small building designed by Dazhou And Associates commissioned by the coffee brand M Stand. The street is crowded with people, and the site which is less than 100 meters from the West Lake, is defined out by three ginkgo trees. Wen Studio Sculpture and Support With three simple geometries supporting the heavy metal roof volume, the building stands like a sculpture on a busy street.
