The Museum Hotel Antakya is located at the center Antioch which is used to be known as the world’s fourth-largest developed city during the Roman Empire’s reign according to the ancient sources. The site – approximately 20,000 sqm – is very close to Christian World’s one of the most important pilgrimage sites, St. Pierre Church. Shooting Star is an 8,650 square foot vacation home designed by Blaze Makoid Architecture. Situated on the Jackson Hole valley floor at the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the home is surrounded by the picturesque Teton Mountain Range. The homeowners, an active family of five, love nature and are avid skiers, as well as kayakers, runners, golfers and bikers. The Marolles have a long and eventful history. The land ,that was made available by the social housing company “De BrusselseHaard” to build four social apartments and a local clubroom, is the result of the demolition of a large neighbourhood for the construction of the Tanneur social quarter.   The small narrow corner plot forms a break in the old urban fabric, it is a lost corner that is stuck between 2 residential typologies: the typical Brussels folk house on the one hand and a mastodon of a concrete apartment building on the other.   The immediate environment of the project has been the main source of inspiration in determining the vertical enveloping curve of the streetscape. The 247 Residence is a 10,000-square-foot home designed for a family of three with a vast community and a penchant for entertaining. From cocktail parties to family holidays, fundraising luncheons to themed events, the family regularly welcomes guests into their home. They also have a small child, and value their privacy.   In designing their home, our goal was to optimize the space for both events and privacy, taking into account the various ways in which homeowners and guests alike will interact with the space. Diederendirrix designed a striking triangular pavilion with rounded corners for the new merger of the Eindhoven hockey clubs. The large canopy built from laminated wooden joists in a triangular grid is eye-catching. The structure extends from the outside into the inside and creates a special interior. The pavilion is located on a plinth consisting of an overgrown slope on one side and a stand on the other side.   Underneath, comfortable changing rooms and a physiotherapy room are fitted in. The Antwerp ring is a typical infrastructure with large scale programs being housed in even larger building volumes. In order to be in this ring culture, this new Freinetschool is looking for height by stacking a three-level primary school on top of a single-level elementary school. On a rather specific plot dragged around an existing sports hall, a school environment is sought to compact where it is needed and thaws and embraces where it is desirable.
